Baños de la Hedionda (Casares)

Baños de la Hedionda (Casares)

At the confluence of the Utrera gorge and the Molinos gorge, you can find the popular Baños de la Hedionda, a spring of sulfurous waters whose use dates back to the late Middle Ages.

The construction of the Baños building began in the 17th century, and documentary evidence places its use from the 18th century onwards when the use of this type of spring for therapeutic purposes started to develop in Málaga. It was in the 19th century when such places for interior bathing tourism became widely popular throughout the province.

In the vicinity of the baths, there are various constructions related to the hydraulic use of the Molinos stream, such as channels, bridges, and aqueducts from both the modern and contemporary periods.
